A gloss with the makeup of a balm. Nourishing oils do most of the work here, jojoba, sweet cherry seed and rosehip, alongside palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and three forms of vitamin E, so it cushions the lips rather than coating them. The shine is the point, but so is the fact that lips feel better after it wears off than they did before.
The texture is the reason it gets talked about. Thick enough to look glossy and saturated, not thick enough to be sticky, and it glides rather than dragging. Coverage is sheer to medium and buildable, so it works alone for a soft wash of colour or layered over something else for depth. There's a faint vanilla scent from ethyl vanillin in the formula.
It's designed as the third step of Mary Phillips' lip routine, over the Overliner pencil and Lip Ciggy balm, though it stands on its own perfectly well.
Best for
Glossy, comfortable colour with sheer to medium buildable coverage. Suits everyday wear and layering over liner and lipstick.
How to use
Apply directly to bare lips for a soft wash of colour and shine. For more depth, layer over a lip pencil or sheer lipstick. Reapply as needed.
